In short. We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA on hostingwc.com and the client dashboard at my.hostingwc.com. We test every release, fix what we find, and want to hear from you about anything we missed.
Our commitment
HostingWC is committed to making its website and client dashboard usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control, switch devices or a keyboard alone, and people with low vision, colour blindness, hearing loss, or cognitive and learning differences.
We use the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, Level AA, as our design and development standard, and we treat accessibility problems as bugs to fix rather than features to add later.
Conformance status
hostingwc.com and my.hostingwc.com are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. In W3C terms this means that most of the content meets the standard, but some parts do not yet fully meet it. Those parts are listed under Known limitations.
This statement reflects our own review. It has not been audited by an independent third party.
What we do
- Structure: pages use real headings, landmarks and lists, and every page starts with a “Skip to content” link.
- Keyboard: everything that works with a mouse works with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring. Dialogs and menus close with Esc and return focus to where you were.
- Contrast and colour: text and controls are designed to meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1, and colour is never the only way information is shown. Light and dark themes are available, and “System” follows your device.
- Motion: animations are reduced or switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Forms: every field has a visible label, required fields are marked, and errors are described in text and announced to screen readers.
- Plain language: technical terms in the client dashboard have plain-English explanations, and each main section has an “Explain this page” guide.
- Testing: before each release we run automated WCAG 2.1 A and AA checks (axe-core) on our main pages in both themes, and check keyboard use and focus by hand.
Known limitations
We know about the following, and are working on them:
- Spam checks on forms: our forms use Google reCAPTCHA or Cloudflare Turnstile to stop spam. These are third-party services, and on rare occasions they may ask for a visual challenge. If a check stops you, email us instead at hello@hostingwc.com.
- Speed audit reports: a saved PDF copy of a speed audit is made with your browser’s print feature, so how well it works with a screen reader depends on your browser. The same results are available as text on the audit page itself.
- Charts and illustrations: some decorative charts and animated illustrations are hidden from screen readers. Where a figure carries information, the same information is given in text nearby; tell us if you find one where it is not.
- Third-party pages: the control panel, payment providers and other services we link to are run by other companies and have their own accessibility policies.
Compatibility
The website and dashboard are designed to work with the current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile, and with the assistive technologies that work with them. They need JavaScript for interactive features such as forms, domain search and the dashboard itself. Older browsers may not display every feature correctly.
Feedback and help
If something on our website, in the client dashboard or in an email from us is hard to use, please tell us. A person on our team reads every message and replies by email. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do and, if you like, the browser or assistive technology you use.
- Feedback form: .
- Email: hello@hostingwc.com, with “Accessibility” in the subject.
- Signed-in members: open a ticket from Support in the client dashboard.
If you need information from our site in another format, such as plain text or large print, ask us in the same way and we will do our best to provide it.
